How to make a battery / battery from potato (experiment):
normal battery operation involves the conversion of chemical energy into electricity through chemical reactions occurring at the interface between the electrolyte and the electrolyte and electrodes.

- analog or digital multimeter (or a small LED to indicate power failure)
