Bonnemaison, St.. Peter lowest 7, Barcelona Starhawk is one of the voices now more respected in the world of spirituality based on the Earth. It is also well known as an activist and organizer in the movement for global justice. His work and writings have inspired many people to take action.
She is the author or coauthor of ten books, including The Spiral Dance: A Rebirth of the Ancient Religion of the Great Goddess (considered essential for basic text neopaganisme movement) and the novel ecotopiana now considered a classic, The Five Sacred Thing. His latest book is The Earth Path: Grounding Your Spirit in the Rhythms of Nature.
His work has been translated into many languages \u200b\u200b(but not in Catalan). His essays are reproduced around the world and many works have been included in anthologies. Starhawk's writings and influence has been referenced by hundreds of authors cited journals, academic and trade press, and even calendars. His books are often in the curricula of university studies. Spiral Dance has been continuously reprinted for twenty-five years and has been revised twice and in 1999, HarperSanFrancisco published its twentieth edition.
Truth or Dare: Encounters with Power, Authority, and Mystery won the Media Alliance for Achievement Meritorius non-fiction works of 1988. The first novel by Starhawk, The Fifth Sacred Thing, won the Lambda Award for best science fiction work of gay and lesbian in 1994. Many of his best political essays-accredited al'autodefinició to help the movement for global justice - are collected in her book Webs of Power: Notes for the Global Uprising. At Book Expo America 2003, Webs of Power won the Nautilus.
Starhawk is perhaps best known as an articulate pioneer in the revival of earth-based spirituality and Goddess religion. She is cofounder of Reclaiming, an activist branch of modern Pagan religion and continues to work closely with the Reclaiming community (www.reclaiming.org). Starhawk has done consulting and has helped in the trilogy film series known as the Women's Spirituality, directed by Donna Read: Goddess Remembered, The Burning Times and Full Circle. Recently, Donna Read and Starhawk have created their own film company, Belil Productions (www.belili.org). Its first production is Signs Out of Time (2004), a documentary about the life of archaeologist Marija Gimbutas, the scholar who made major discoveries about the Goddess cultures of Old Europe.
Starhawk and Donna are now working on his next film, an introduction to permaculture.
Starhawk is a veteran of progressive movements, from anti-war movements to movements against nuclear energy, and is deeply involved in bringing the techniques and creative power of spirituality activism political. Satarhawk also recorded cassette tapes and CDs: Wicca for Beginners (2002), Wiccan Rituals and Blessings (2003) and a package of four CD entitled Earth Magic (2006), all produced by Sounds True. Sometimes some of their songs and sing songs and have rituals around the world, have been included in songbooks and books of hymns, sung and recorded by other artists Reclaiming the musical community.
Starhawk travels the world teaching magic, ritual tools and skills of activism. He lives part time in San Francisco with her partner and other friends in a shared house, and part time in a small cabin in the woods of western Sonoma County, where he practiced permaculture in their orchards and writes.
